Be wholly absorbed in the work of gaining daily more understanding of God.  Then personal ambition, envy, desire to be in this or that place, cannot use you.  Personal ambition has no place in a Christian’s thought or life.  He is wholly occupied in the loving, humble purpose to do good, and to prove that good is all that can govern thought, action, condition, or being.  Mary Baker Eddy  (Carpenter, Gilbert, Collectanea of Items By and About Mary Baker Eddy, p.35)

THE SECOND DEATH

Revelation 20 – 8

Verse 12. Thus we are enabled to see “the dead stand before God,”— dead because of the belief of good and evil — alive because of the message of Science and Health, for the ideas of Mind are they which were dead and yet live, and whose name have been written in the book of Life from the beginning.   Mary Baker Eddy     (Carpenter, Gilbert, Essays On Christian Science, p.69-70)

ARGUMENTS

Neither mesmerism, hypnotism, theosophy, esoteric magic nor wicked mental or audible arguments can affect me. God governs me. Justice, Truth, Love govern us, and nothing else can or does affect us in the least.

(Thrice each day from one half to one hour.)

Then have faith in God. Know that faith as a grain of mustard seed can remove mountains, and have no faith in evil. Know that it cannot do anything, that it is nothing. Know that God is all. The wrath of man shall praise Thee and the remainder of wrath shalt Thou restrain. All things work together for good to them that love God. See I Thess 5.   Mary Baker Eddy

THE SECOND DEATH

Revelation 20 – 7

Verse 11. The constant handling of M. A. M. enables the student of divine Science to discern the great white throne of pure good, and Him that sits upon it is Love, from whose face the heaven and earth of mortal mind — the beliefs of good and evil — flee away and no place is found for them, for they are not.  Mary Baker Eddy     (Carpenter, Gilbert, Essays On Christian Science, p.69)
