There is but one substance, one power, one intelligence, one Life, one Love, which is the one God of the universe, who is Spirit, the all-good which fills all space and is omnipresent. I deny the reality of sickness, of sin, of suffering, and of error, of loneliness. I deny the power of evil in every guise. I deny the false beliefs entertained in sickness and nervousness, in misfortune, poverty, discouragement, or fear, or doubt, or foolishness. Mary Baker Eddy, (Oakes, Richard, Essays and Bible Lessons, p.69)
TO CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
No student of Christian Science shall occupy a position of trust or confidence in this Cause who does not daily declare the truth at least three times in his prayers for the well-being of his Leader, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science., the Rev. Mary Baker Eddy Mary Baker Eddy (Carpenter, Gilbert, Watches, Prayers and Arguments, p.20)
September 9, 1903. If you have a patient who does not respond, would you say, I have done the best I could, and give up? No; it is the opportunity to rise higher and meet the demand. Mary Baker Eddy, (Oakes, Richard, Course In Divinity and General Collectanea, p.11)
TO MY HOUSEHOLD AT PLEASANT VIEW
The rules of this house do not permit of evil being spoken, thought or heard. Love rules this and every hour. Malicious animal magnetism is without power, powerless. Darkness is nothing. Mind is All, God is All and His voice is heard in all places. God judges and His judgement is sound and righteous. Know this now and every hour. No theosophy, no malicious animal magnetism to lie or hear a lie. God reigns and loveth whom He chasteneth. No work is done until I say it is and no student will forsake his post in any moment. God is Love, Love is All. Truth reigns. Mary Baker Eddy
(Carpenter, Gilbert, Watches, Prayers and Arguments, p.18)
I am not subject to the laws of mortal belief in sickness, sin and death, and the belief lasts only while I believe in the power of matter. I am hid with Christ in God where no mortal sense can find me and where no mortal belief can reach me. Mind sustains man. I am renewed daily in the image and likeness of God and cannot lose one faculty which expresses my divinity. I am free from the beliefs that have claimed to hold me in bondage. I am free. Mary Baker Eddy (Oakes, Richard, Essays and Bible Lessons, Red Book, p.69)
WATCH – Mother says take up each day, no fear, all is love. Mind controls all. No malicious mesmerism to hinder his thoughts. All is light and clearness. Do not name ________ or the others by name. Mary Baker Eddy (Carpenter, Gilbert, Watches, Prayers and Arguments, p.15)
Here let me give what I understand to be the spiritual sense of the Lords Prayer:
Our Father which art in heaven,
Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy kingdom is come; Thou art ever-present.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Enable us to know, — as in heaven, so on earth, — God is omnipotent, supreme.
Give us this day our daily bread;
Give us grace for to-day; feed the famished affections;
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And Love is reflected in love;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil;
And God leadeth us not into temptation, but delivereth us from sin, disease, and death.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
For God is infinite, all-power, all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All. (Eddy, Mary Baker, Science and Health, With Key To The Scriptures, p.16:24-15
There is no power in anger, ill-temper, scorn, or contempt. There is no power in prejudice, or superstition. There is no power in selfishness, envy, jealousy, pride, hate, malice, or revenge. I am a law against all that is false. I deny that the appearance that we call matter has any life, substance, or intelligence, because God is the only Life. Only the good has power. God is my health. God is my wisdom. The belief of sickness is not true, and is brought on by animal magnetism, universal false belief. Mary Baker Eddy, Essays and Bible Lessons, Red Book). p.69)
