Dailies

We are called to lay ourselves daily, hourly, upon the altar of self-sacrifice, of utter dependence upon God, glorying in each awful trial, rejoicing in each draught from that cup which fits us to become participants with Jesus of his martyrdom and victory.  This power is given us in the same extent as we entertain the sense of the Spirit which enriched him, and we come into the fullness of demonstration as we have the same Mind which was in Christ Jesus.  Mary Baker Eddy    (Carpenter, Gilbert, Collectanea of Items By and About Mary Baker Eddy, p.114)

Dailies

Declare continually your own perfection and freedom, and let the true and divine idea destroy the mesmerism that argues that you are sad and unhappy.  This idea is your Saviour.  Mary Baker Eddy   (Carpenter, Gilbert, Collectanea of Items By and About Mary Baker Eddy, p.118)

UNSELFED LOVE – 7

Beloved Brethren:It is conceded that our shadows follow us in the sunlight wherever we go; but I ask for more, even this: That this dear church shall be pursued by her substance, the immortal fruition of her unselfed love, and that her charity, which “seeketh not her own” but another’s good, shall reap richly the reward of goodness.  (Eddy, Mary Baker, The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany, p.19:18)

UNSELFED LOVE – 6

We cannot serve two masters. Do we love God supremely? Are we honest, just, faithful? Are we true to ourselves? “God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” To abide in our unselfed better self is to be done forever with the sins of the flesh, the wrongs of human life, the tempter and temptation, the smile and deceit of damnation. When we have overcome sin in all its forms, men may revile us and despitefully use us, and we shall rejoice, “for great is [our] reward in heaven.”  (Eddy, Mary Baker, The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany, p.6:3)
